Skinny Tan One Hour Express Tan Review
I’ve been a regular user of fake tan for years, decades even – I first fake tanned in my teens and after experiencing the difference it made to my pale red head complexion (and confidence) I’ve never looked back. I’ve tried and used a lot of different products over the years, but I’ve never heard of a fake tan that develops in only an hour that you can then wash off, so was keen to try out the Skinny Tan Express Tan.

You use it in a similar way to a standard fake tan that develops, but instead of having to put it on the night before or at least a good few hours before going out, it says it will give a ‘light natural glow in just an hour’
Here’s my review of the Skinny Tan Self-Tanning Express mousse and the results I’ve had from it…
First off as I still had a few patchy spots of old tan, I started by using the Skinny Tan Slef-Tan Remover to prep my skin.

I have been using this Skinny Tan product for a while and it works really well – it doesn’t just remove the old tan, but it also does a great job of exfoliating my skin leaving it silky smooth.
I then started to apply the tan. I always do my tanning standing in front of a full length mirror so I don’t miss anywhere and I use a mit applicator to cover my hands (as otherwise they look like roast chicken!) The product is a foam although it’s not as runny as other products and dries out quickly, so you have to work quite fast.
It’s got a strong guide colour, so it’s easy to see where it’s been – although having said that it’s so dark you wouldn’t get away with quickly popping out of the house while it develops like you can with some other tanners – This one is definitely noticeable! So you will need a couple of hours clear at home, to do it.
It didn’t take long to cover all my body and face. As I moved onto each new body part, the previous parts were already nearly touch dry, as it sinks in quickly. Only downside to this though, is that I also felt I used more product than I normally would though, as it was drying so fast.
Once finished with the application, although I looked a bit of a dodgy colour it doesn’t have a strong smell and there’s not lots of stickiness like some other tans can have straight after application. Before getting dressed though (In some loose clothing, so it didn’t leave marks) I did have a quick spray of another Skinny Tan product I also regularly use – The this is great at quick setting any tan application so you can then get dressed straight away afterwards.
To test out the rapid claims I only left it on for 1.5 hours before rinsing. It says in the the instructions that this will leave a light glow, but that you can also get a darker colour by leaving it on longer.
Can you shower after using Skinny Tan?
When the timer was up, I rinsed off the guide colour – I always do this under a warm shower till the water runs clear and then gently pat my skin dry.

Does the one hour skinny tan mouse work in an hour?
The initial result was a change definitely, but not a full on tan like you’d get from a normal skinny tan serum after it’s developed or a San Tropez mouse. But it did leave a noticeable improvement and my skin felt super soft and silky with a glow and evened out complexion – the tan then developed over the next eight hours, leaving a nice subtle colour.
Overall I would recommend for a quick tan top up option. More so for a natural day to day look rather than a night out, if you do only put it on for an hour, but when you leave it on for just a little bit longer, it then becomes a good option for a strong all over colour too. Now I have experimented a few more times with this tan, to find the ideal length of time to develop for my skin tone – I have found that leaving it on just a little bit longer for two hours gives me a good tone of tan that then lasts for around five days.
