Is Stitch Fix UK Worth It? – My 3 Month Review

This is a collaborative post

With all the madness of Christmas, I’d forgotten it was nearly time for my next Stitch Fix, so the email notification of my next delivery was a nice surprise last week. I signed up for the clothes box subscription in the latter half of last year, so I now get a regular box every two months. As this is now my third time receiving it, I thought I’d share what having the subscription has been like so far, what the clothes are like and whether in my opinion it’s worth having a Stitch Fix UK subscription

If you are new to Stitch Fix and wondering what happens, it all starts with an email letting you know that your order is ready for review. As with my first two orders though, although you get the chance to review the items you are getting before they arrives, I had chosen to keep it a surprise.

The reason I don’t look at the stylist email – Is that a big part of getting this service was having the stylist input – a chance to try out clothes I wouldn’t normally choose. Therefore, in order to do this, I didn’t want the option to dismiss things without trying them on first.

Month Two Stitch Fix Review

Although I didn’t look at my order preview email for my second box – I did however add some stylist notes. This is a feature of the service where you can put requests in for specific items you are looking to add to your wardrobe, or request outfit options for a specific event. As I had my fortieth birthday on the horizon, I thought I’d request a special outfit for dinner and cocktails out with friends.

When my second box arrived, I received two jumpsuits, and a pair of strappy sandals for my birthday night out. The sandals are gorgeous – they reminded me of ones I had and loved in the nineties. They are tall enough to give me some much-needed height yet but only 2 inches so still comfy. They are from Bianco. I had never heard of them before, they are a Scandinavian footwear brand and already since , I’ve seen lots of other shoes on their website I like. The ones I received in the box were called Biaadore Strappy Sandals, and were only £49.99 which I thought was a really good price for heels that are actually comfortable too. You can see the heels and the both jumpsuits in a try on reel I made on my A Suffolk Mum Instagram.

Moving onto the jumpsuits – I liked the print of both, but definitely thought the Editors Cut Saturday wrap jumpsuit suited me more. I loved the maroon leopard print, I felt the wrap style suited me and was also more of a winter outfit, compared with the second one. The other jumpsuit was a much more summery floral, with spaghetti straps and didn’t feel right for a winter night out.  Editors Cut is one of Stitch Fix’s own brand and I’ve found a lot of what I like seems to be in this line. Its well priced too – the jumpsuit felt good quality and was £52. I do already have a couple of jumpsuits and feel good in the style, but the difference with these new ones is having a wide leg and also midi length – In the past I’ve always assumed because I’m quite short with big thighs that this look wouldn’t be flattering on me, so have never tried on this style in shops before, but I loved them.

I decided to keep the maroon one and have already got quite a lot of wear out of it. It didn’t however feel special enough for my birthday, but great for meals out and actually, being so comfy (and stretchy!) it made a great Christmas day outfit too!

Month Three Stitch Fix UK Review -Is Stitch Fix Worth It?

Let’s move onto a review of my latest Stitch Fix box with some winter clothes for January 2022…

In this box I received two jumpers, a pair of jeans, a dress and a jumpsuit. You can see my try on video featuring all the outfits in the box in an outfit reel over on my A Suffolk Mum Instagram page.

The jeans I really liked, which surprised me as I normally find it difficult to find ones that suit me. Again they were by a make I’d not heard of before – Mauvette and the jeans sent were Vivienne High Rise Skinny Stretch Jean. I love the high waist on them and have worn them a few times already. Again a high waist is not something I’d normally pick, but I feel good in them, which for me is unusual in jeans.

There was then two jumpers to go with these. As you can see in the reel, the blue  one is pretty boring and I don’t think it was flattering on, but the Phase Eight one I loved. I found the diagonal cut flattering at the bottom and it skimmed all my lumps and bumps without being too baggy. This jumper was the Bethanie Colour Block Ripple Stitch Knit in pink and white.

Next up was a dress, which although had a nice print, felt too clingy and made me feel frumpy. The jumpsuit on the other hand I loved. Its not too dissimilar to the one I’d bought in the previous box and again was by one of Stitch fix’s own brands, this time &Et. I haven’t worn it yet, but I’m looking forward to both dressing it up for a meal out and also wearing it with trainers when the spring comes.

All in all I would really rate the Stitch Fix experience so far. It’s encouraged me to try things I wouldn’t normally, has already introduced me to lots of new brands and the process of sending items back is very straight forward too.

Another way to add some flair and fun to an outfit is by customisation. Pairing jeans with personalized patches is an option to consider. If you feel that both your jeans and top are rather monotonous, you can sew some of your favorite patches on your jeans. Patches Co.’s online custom patches service allows us to design our created patterns, favorite themes, personalized signatures, and any other one! There are a variety of materials to choose from, PVC, embroidery and more. Not only can you improve the overall fashion of your outfit, but you can also reflect your own personality.
