5 Great Family Friendly Hotels in London with a Swimming Pool
Having a swimming pool at the place we stay, is always high on the wish list when we go away as a family to London. It’s such a welcome bonus, not only when we are going abroad somewhere hot, but even if its a mini break in a city – a pool makes such a difference, having it as an activity to do each day, when you are travelling with kids. Finding a family friendly hotel in London with a swimming pool that fits in with the rest of our trip though, has not always been easy. So, I thought I would share some brilliant ones we have stayed in as a family of four in London and some more we have been recommended.
South Bank Family Friendly Hotel With a Swimming Pool
Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London
First up is the Park Plaza Hilton on the South Bank. We stayed here as a family in October half term 2021 and were really impressed. Not only did it have great facilities and bedrooms, the location was also brilliant for central London attractions. The hotel is right on the South Bank, so perfect if you are visiting the London Eye or The London Sea Life Centre.
In fact the location really came into its own in the evening too. We had views stretching right out across the city from our bedroom – which also promoted us to go on a evening walk around the South Bank with the children to see the lights. It was beautiful – all the famous landmarks lit up and the London Eye changing colour, all against the backdrop of the Thames. Plus there’s a light feature right outside the hotel lobby that was very popular, with lots of children enjoying playing on it.
The hotel swimming pool is on one of the levels below ground and is part of a spa. Considering the size of the hotel it isn’t all that big, but saying that, there was plenty of space for the children to swim and play. When we visited there were still Covid restrictions in place, so we had to book a slot to swim when we checked in.
The bedrooms are large and our family room was split into two sections with two large doubles in each. Ours also had fabulous floor to ceiling windows to look out across London.

City of London, Family Friendly Hotel With a Swimming Pool
The Westin London City, London
The Westin is a luxurious London hotel located right in the heart of the city. Only 450 yards away from St Paul’s Cathedral, it’s a great option if you want to stay centrally and within easy of central London attractions. Having recently undergone major refurbishment works, the hotel now has modern stylish interiors – they have gone for a contemporary look, using a calming palette of neutrals with pops of rich forest green. They have large family bedrooms perfect for travelling with children and the swimming pool is part of a spa. There are complementary spa robes to use and the swimming pool area has lots of seating to sit and relax while the children play.

London Hotel with a Swimming Pool for Families with a Toddler
Novotel London Blackfriars, Southwark
Next up is a great hotel for families with toddlers in Southwark. Lyndsey from the blog ‘Me Him the Dog and a Baby’ visited as part of a family break to London and really recommends it. Novotel London Blackfriars is a short walk from both Southwark tube and Blackfriars station. She visited with her husband and toddler and their family room included a separate single pull out bed. There’s a bar and restaurant and hotel swimming pool with complimentary towels and lockers to use. Leonardo Royal London St Pauls Hotel
Considering it sits within the busy built up business hub of St Pauls, The Leonardo Royal London is like a hidden oasis of calm tucked away from the surrounding hustle and bustle. As you’d expect for the area, this luxury hotel caters a lot for business guests, yet they also cater really well for families. They have large family rooms including quadruple bedrooms, great for families of four visiting London.

West London Family Friendly Hotel with a Swimming Pool
London Marriot Maida Vale Hotel
Just out west, is a beautiful London hotel, great for family mini breaks to the capital. The bedrooms are large with different options for families, including both deluxe or executive rooms with two double beds that accommodate families of four. There is a Bannatyne’s gym next door that all hotel guests receive complementary access to the swimming pool and even a Carluccio’s restaurant within the hotel, with a great kids menu. Out of all five hotels mentioned, this hotel is the furthest out from Central London, but with Kilburn Park Tube less than a ten minute walk away, its still well connected to the rest of the capital. There’s also parking, so a good option if you are visiting the capital and driving but don’t want to take a car right into Central London.
