Using Essential Oils to Relax – Nikura Diffusers Review
This is a paid sponsored article, with my honest opinions of the product I was sent to review.
Living such hectic and busy lives, I personally find when I do have time to relax, that it can then often take me a good while to fully switch off and calm my mind. Of an evening, my surroundings are really important for this and when looking to create a calming atmosphere in a room, I think scent is such a vital finishing touch. I’ve always been a big fan of scented candles, and lighting one has now become synonymous for me with siting down to relax of an evening, so when I was offered the chance to try out an essential oil diffusers, I was keen to find out what they are like as an alternative and if its something new to add into my daily routine.

Nikura are an ecommerce website that sells essential oils, fragrance oils, and other aromatherapy products. With essential oils being a traditional tool that’s been used for centuries in a number of different cultures for different purposes – both physical and mental, this independent brand have a large range of products that caters to a lot of different uses. If you are not familiar with essential oils already and what they can do for you, the benefits are vast. From their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to their help with relaxation, focus and even memory, there are a huge range of different scents and products that can be incorporated into your daily routine to help body and mind.
Nikura sent me out one of their electric diffusers to try, which is sold as their fuss free way to disperse the scent of your favourite oils, throughout your home. On arrival I found the diffuser itself is very easy to unbox and set up. I’m not overly a techy person, so I often find myself putting off having to put things together if they are complicated, so was pleased that all you need to do for this, is simply plug the cable into the side, lift of the top and add in their little jug, with a few drops of your chosen oil.
To operate – there are then two buttons on the side that you press to decide how much it mists and the colour of the light itself. In terms of how it looks, its a pretty diffuser in white with a contemporary design, that when turned off looks nice on my sideboard and blends with the other decorative accessories.

Now for its use – I was sent the lavender essential oil to try out with my diffuser and it didn’t take long once turned on, for the scent to start to circulate. Its nice and subtle which I liked – I’ve had oil diffusers in the past with reeds that have felt quite overbearing. The mist from the Electric Nikura diffuser in comparison, has a gentle mist that slowly fills the room and then subsequently other areas of my home. The mist itself is quiet which I found was quite a soothing presence, watching it while I worked on my laptop while it was plugged in too. I also liked the light features it has to create a nice glow and atmosphere during the evening especially, with my daughter also enjoying choosing which colour to have.

I was sent a Bulgarian Lavender oil to try out, with Lavender traditionally thought of, as being calming with healing properties. Head over to the Nikura website to check out there full range of products.
