Marvel Hotel Review – Disneyland Paris
We recently went on a last minute mini break to Disneyland Paris and when it came to choosing accommodation, the Marvel Disney hotel stood out as looking the most fun to stay in. When booking and planning our Disney break away, our most important criteria was to stay onsite at a Disney hotel, so we could fully immerse ourselves into the Disney experience for the entire weekend. As we we were only going for a few days, we wanted a package where all the logistics were taken care off, with transfers, being able to use the extra Disney magic hours in the morning and also being in easy walking distance to the parks. Additional to this a big criteria for us a family on any trip we go on, is a decent swimming pool to use during our stay.

When taking all of this into account, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel ticked all of the boxes and more. We booked direct through the Disneyland website and added on our transfers from the airport (on the Disney Magic Bus) at the same time.
So how did the hotel that ticked all the boxes stack up in real life? Here’s our review of our stay there as a family of four in May 2023…
Checking into Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel
Our transfer from the airport was straight forward (on the Disney magic bus) and then we arrived into the hotel. If you are big marvel fan, the entrance and foyer will not disappoint. It’s designed to feel as if you are entering a Manhattan hotel complete with a New York yellow taxi outside. You walk into a vast modern lobby full of size superhero displays and marvel themed art all around.
On arrival, there are a few check in desks to head to. It did take us a little while to be seen, but there is quite a lot of information to talk through for each new guest, so it was understandable.
What are the Rooms like at the Marvel Hotel Disneyland Paris?

Having been to and not overly impressed with the bedrooms at Disney resorts in the past, we opted for one of the cheapest bedrooms when booking the Marvel hotel. My experience of Disney hotels previously is that the communal areas, (the foyers especially) and the facilities are impressive, but the bedrooms are pretty standard. So unless you are opting for an amazing extra such as a savannah room to see the animals at Animal Kingdom, then its not worth the extra.

After saying all that, our bedroom in Disneyland Paris was perfectly nice. (Taking into account the premium Disney price tag!) The Marvel theming is subtle, adding a bit of fun and it has the feel of a chic city hotel. We had a family bedroom that had plenty of space with a giant double and then a full size bunk beds for the kids.

There’s also giant mirror on the wall that very cleverly turns into the TV! and something that’s always important to me in a hotel room – a good coffee machine that was easy to figure out how to use! A nice extra which I hadn’t paid attention to when booking, was that our bedroom came with a terrace too. This meant being on the ground floor (which also made us closer to everything) and we had patio doors that then led out to a pretty little area overlooking the lake, with a couple of sun loungers. On arrival I thought we’d use it lots, but as it turned out, with such long days at the parks, we didn’t spend a lot of time in our bedroom.
I would imagine for longer stays, these would be great for some time out relaxing and people watching with a nice view. There was one little way we did make use of the terrace that helped with tired legs though – my son liked running back to the room ahead of us (Especially if we were stopping for a Starbucks on the way out) and then going into the room and opening the patio doors for us which meant we could bypass going around to the front of the hotel and then all the way through.
Disneyland Paris Marvel hotel Food
We opted for a half board dining plan, which meant we had breakfast included at the hotel. Ideally we would have liked to have tried dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening too, but as we booked so last minute, there were not any reservations left. Back to the breakfast at the Art of Marvel – it’s all laid out in one of the restaurants each morning and its a pretty standard large hotel breakfast buffet. The food was good with plenty of choice, but not amazing by any means and no special Disney touches in comparison with Florida. There was a good variety of cooked food and being in France as you’d expect lots of different pastries to choose from. The service was good and the coffee ok (a bit artificial from a self serve machine) but all in all certainly good enough to keep us fueled up for long days in the park.
Another highlight of visiting the hotel for us, was The Skyline Bar – there are screens that spiderman magically appears on during your visit, which the kids loved and you can watch as the expert bar staff make the premium cocktails behind the bar.

What’s the Swimming Pool like at Disney Paris Hotel New York the Art of Marvel?

Where ever we go, my children and husband will always find time in the day to visit a hotel pool, so we were pleased to find there was both an indoor and outdoor pool at the Marvel hotel. They are joined together with the pool area designed to resemble an urban rooftop, reflecting the contemporary feel of New York City.
The Indoor Metro area has a sleek monochrome design with clean lines and paneling opening out into another large swimming pool and seating area with umbrellas. Its a good size and never felt crowded when we visited, Although its worth noting the design isn’t overly exciting for kids and there isn’t any slides etc. to play on. Its also a shame that the water is so deep all over the pool. I’m five foot two and I couldn’t touch the ground anywhere in either the inside or outside pools apart from the big jacuzzi which does make it harder if you’ve got little ones that can’t swim. There is a little shallow kids pool at the side indoors, although it is very small, so you wouldn’t want to spend too long there.

Children’s Activities and Facilities at the Marvel hotel, Disneyland

Now this is where the hotel came into its own. There was an abundance of different facilities and activities for children that were above and beyond other hotels we’ve stayed in. The outside Hero Training Zone was far bigger than I thought it would be – with a basketball court, space to play football, gym equipment and trampolines. There were then plenty of footballs and basketballs free to use there, all stored at the swimming pool reception.

Despite it being a play area, it was also felt a calmer space ( in comparison to the parks certainly!) when we visited, a nice place to relax with a coffee while the kids played. There’s also the Marvel Design studio where you can attend sessions on drawing Marvel characters. Additionally there’s also special photo opportunities that you can book as a resident of the hotel to have your picture taken with marvel characters during your stay.
Overall we loved our stay Disney’s Marvel hotel – it felt more of a grown up Disney experience, perfect for our older children to still enjoy the magic, with great facilities and less than a ten minute walk to both Disney parks, it was perfect for our family mini break to Paris.
