Cotton Traders – Alex Jones Collection Review
I was gifted these items, for the purpose of this review.
I love the promise that March brings, the signal it brings to start planning for spring – we are not quite there yet, as although it might be the official start of the season, we know better than to put away our big coats quite yet. But, what it does mean though, is that warmer and brighter days are on their way, which feels a good time to start thinking about spring clothes. So it was fab timing when Cotton Traders got in touch asking if I I’d like to try some of the Alex Jones collection.
When looking, I wanted to find some pieces that could help me level up my style. I’m going to a lot more work meetings and events at the moment, and although they are not corporate at all, so I can in theory be as casual and relaxed as I like, for me putting thought into pulling an outfit together, always gives me more confidence, walking into a room of people I don’t know.

The thing that caught my eye first when browsing, was the gorgeous bright colours and with so much to choose from, it took a while.
Here’s what I finally choose and what I thought of the collection on me versus styled on the website…
First up I chose a blazer. I already have a few I wear often with jeans and dresses, but they are all in more neutral colours, so this pale blue one really stood out on the website. I love it – Its definitely fits with my brief of putting together outfits, that make me feel styled up for a work meeting or networking event, but equally could be worn on the school run. I love the colour and the way it hangs. Its designed to be quite loose, so if you prefer a more fitted silhouette, I would size down like I did. They’ve also got a lot of lovely shirts and blouses on Cotton Traders. There were two I loved, firstly there’s a pink and white striped oxford shirt I’d recommend having a look at in the Alex Jones collection and also a floral green pastel blouse. I went for the blouse and am very pleased I did. Its lightweight without being see through and an unexpected bonus, was that it’s got little extra hidden buttons in between the normal ones, so there’s no gaping around the bust area. This is such a win for me, as I’m always having to faff about with safety pins trying to close these gaps inconspicuously.

Lastly, I got a Wrinkle Free Half Sleeve Ruched V-Neck Top in Navy. To start with, the wrinkle free element appealed to me, as I rarely iron and with a bigger bust, V-necks are my friend, in that they are most flattering style on my shape (as long as they are not too low cut!) This one wasn’t and was just the right amount of fitted – not clinging too much over my lumps and bumps, but not too loose to tuck in. I also felt it looked good under the blue blazer and I can see myself wearing this with lots of different outfits. Whether its with jeans, tucked into long pleated skirts, or under dungaree dresses. It was also only £14 which I thought was a bargain and comes in six different colours.
