New Suffolk Baby Show Coming to Ipswich This October

There are a lot of firsts in life and there’s none more monumental than your first baby – the first that turns you into a Parent. Yet despite how transformative pregnancy and new motherhood are, there’s no manual or formal training beforehand. I remember looking back how excited, yet also daunted I felt when pregnant, about the next chapter of my life beginning.

It’s a time where there’s so much to consider and decisions to make. When pregnant first time around, I spent so much time online, researching everything from pram choices and nappy options to cots and clothing.

Remembering this uncertainty and apprehension, is one of the reasons I was so pleased to hear about the new baby show being held in Suffolk this October – it sounds such a great way for parents to be and new mums to gather all this information under just one roof.

There’s a lot to consider becoming a parent in 2022. Besides the fact pregnant women are actually growing and caring for their unborn child that they are carrying, the ‘parents to be’ also need to discover, plan and buy everything they will then need for their new arrival after the birth. This is where baby shows are such a brilliant concept – an event for new and expectant parents giving them access to the products and services they will need. When Toddle About magazine got in touch with me over the summer to ask me to share information about their new event, seeing the value this offers to new parents, I was more than happy to spread the word.

So lets have a closer look at the Toddle About Baby Show, and what to expect at their first Suffolk Baby Show next month.

First up the show is a one day event taking place at Wherstead Park, Ipswich on Sunday the 16th October between 10am-3pm. It’s also free for families to attend and if you register your attendance online in advance you can get a free goody bag to take home (while stocks last.) There is also plenty of free parking at the venue for families.

Being a pretty specific event, odds are, unless you’ve been with a friend or this isn’t your first child you may be wondering what kinds of exhibitors will be at a Baby Show and also if there will be other things more than shopping.

Well the answer to the latter is a resounding yes – the show is going to be packed full of interactive elements with talks, demos and fun activities for all the family to enjoy.

However before we go into that in detail, lets have a little look at the different baby and toddler brands that will be there to help you make those all important retail decisions first.

Suffolk Baby Show Brands 2022

In total there are more than 40 different companies at the show, spanning nationwide well known brands, to local independent businesses. There will be lots to look at all under one roof, showcasing a variety of products and services – including Scandi inspired children’s décor from Fox + Bramble Ipswich, Puddle Ducks baby and toddler swimming lessons, infant nutrition, the latest cot offerings and nursery décor, toddler classes and clubs, and many more. When reading through the exhibitor info, something that I also thought was worth mentioning is the emphasis that Toddle About also places on the type of retail environment the show is promoting. The shopping areas are designed to be low pressure and family friendly, so you can browse and ask questions in a relaxed environment.

It’s Not Just About Babies

There are also going to be a lot of stands catering to parents of toddlers and children. There will be the opportunity to talk to companies that run a variety of toddler and children’s classes, such as Cricket Tots, or Kidslingo who run fun French and Spanish lessons for children up to ten years old. Children’s party suppliers are also a focus, with parents getting the chance to find out about different local DJ packages, princess appearances and even soft play hire.

Children’s Entertainment at the Suffolk Baby Show

Speaking of older children, if you are bringing toddlers and children along, there is lots of different entertainment planned to keep them entertained. The organisers have done all they can to accommodate for everyone attending “To make sure everyone has a fun day, the little ones will have a large soft play area to enjoy and there will be special guest appearances from magical princesses, Chase from Paw Patrol, and Woody from Toy Story throughout the day. Plus there will be a selection of selfie props and a photo booth for you to strike a pose“

Live Demos and Talks

There will also be a variety of live demos and speakers on the Live Stage throughout the day where you catch advice on new parenting issues such as sleep, nutrition or car safety. On a lighter note there is also a talk not to be missed in the afternoon, by the hilarious and relatable parenting blogger Men Behaving Dadly.
